It’s been a while Tumblr. Feel like I owe you this.
I’m an extravert, married to the Queen of introverts, and I too approve this message! As a former(-ish) introvert, I think most of this is pretty spot-on. [via @sheatsb]
And then there was the one who said, in her cellphone’s voicemail message, sounding amused as she said it, that she was afraid she had been murdered, but to leave a message and she would get back to us.
It wasn’t until we read the news, several days later, that we learned that she had indeed been murdered, apparently randomly and quite horribly.
But then she did get back to each of the people who had left her a message. By phone, at first, leaving cellphone messages that sounded like someone whispering in a gale, muffled wet sounds that never quite resolved into words.
Eventually, of course, she will return our calls in person.

Hello everyone!
Those who followed my NZ blog will know that I’m back :) Getting straight back into work and school has been very beneficial, there was no time for jetlag or moping, just a day or two of mass confusion where I realised that I didn’t have a trip to plan or a novel to write. What do people do with their time when they don’t have those things?! So far I’ve been watching a lot of Bones to make up the time and popping to London to listen to SF discussions (interesting but limited, panel didn’t seem to gel) and finally meet several internet friends including some school librarians and the very lovely Ana and Mathie, who are both beautiful and charming.
Things are being made extra interesting at the moment by an involvement in New Zealand, a very dear man who has the potential to be very important. Fingers crossed he’ll be joining me for a month over Christmas, squee! Watch this space. I’ll be counting down the days…
YES! I am internationally youthful. A while ago I said that if I was ever ID-ed again I’d get proof. Then it didn’t happen, and didn’t happen, and I thought that was it forever. But no. Got ID-ed in NZ by this lovely lady who agreed to have her photo taken. The NZ drinking age is 18, so this is even better than the last time I got checked in Sainsburys.

I know London is on fire and things are awful at the moment, but I’ve finished this round of revisions on my novel. The next stage is exciting and absolutely terrifying.
This is awesome.
That is all.
